Medical Education is an integral part of Barnsley NHS FT, Medical Education works to ensure that Students, Trainees and Medical Staff are supported in delivering safe and efficient patient care through quality placements.
The department is responsible for developing, managing and delivering a range of high quality and cost effective medical educational services within the Trust to specifications required by the General Medical Council, Health Education England, Yorkshire and Humber, Sheffield Medical School and the Trusts Strategic and Operational Framework.
Medical Education has a key role in ensuring the Trust achieves the highest clinical standards. High quality Medical Education supports patient safety, service delivery and the maintenance of up-to-date clinical practice.
Medical Education is regulated by the General Medical Council and Health Education England. The Trust is required to engage with the national quality assurance stipulations via regular quality visits and reports.
Main duties of the job
To provide full and efficient administrative and data management support to the Foundation Programme Director, Director of Post Graduate Medical Education and Medical Education Manager for the delivery of the Foundation Training Curriculum and management of trainee rotations, with particular emphasis on co-ordination, collection, monitoring and analysis of assessment documentation required for the accreditation of F1 and F2 doctors as required in the Operational Framework for Foundation Training.

Knowledge and Awareness Essential
Understanding the principles of assessment.
Desirable
Detailed knowledge relating to medical training and education
Experience Essential
Computer literate and proficient in a wider range of software packages. Previous experience of working in the NHS
Desirable
Experience of working with Medical staff and other healthcare professionals. Experience of working closely with medical, nursing and other allied health professionals at all levels. Evidence of managing a large piece of work with minimal supervision
Qualifications Essential
NVQ Level III or working towards, OCR III, RSA III, ECDL or equivalent. Level 3 Counselling skills or willing to work towards
