An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Podiatrist / Podiatric Surgical Trainee to join the Department of Podiatric Surgery at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a training role to take MSc. graduates through surgical training to complete the requirements for part 1 and 2, finally gaining Fellowship in Podiatric Surgery (FCPodS)
This structured training post is designed to provide the successful candidate with the core clinical and surgical skills required to pursue a career in podiatric surgery. Over the course of the fixed-term contract, you will receive supervised surgical training aligned with the requirements for HCPC annotation in podiatric surgery.

A CASE-accredited Postgraduate Certificate in Diagnostic Ultrasound
The clinical and professional competencies required to progress to registrar-level training under the Faculty of Podiatric Surgery curriculum

Main duties of the job
This is a training role to take MSc. graduates through surgical training to complete the requirements for part 1 and 2, finally gaining Fellowship in Podiatric Surgery (FCPodS) The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of Podiatric Surgery Services under the direction of the Consultant Podiatric Surgeon at a level appropriate to their level of experience. The post holder will support the Consultant Podiatric Surgeon in day to day clinical, surgical, audit, research, evaluation and strategic development of the Podiatric Surgery service. The post holder will be a clinical specialist providing comprehensive expert clinical care who examines, diagnoses and treats diseases, deformities and injuries to the foot and associated structures. They will consult with patients to determine an appropriate course of treatment both conservative and surgical. To maintain key working relationships and encourage close cross boundary working in collaboration with clinical services of other specialties to ensure a patient focused approach to the delivery of care.
