Job summary
To work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality and evidence based physiotherapy interventions under the guidance of a physiotherapist to enable people who access services to reach their full potential. This post is within an inpatient Mental Health ward for Older Adults.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide high quality and evidence-based physiotherapy interventions (group and individual) to people who access services and their carers/supporters/family members, in line with the physiotherapy pathways and with supervision from a specialist physiotherapist.
2. To communicate effectively with people who access services, carers, the multi-disciplinary team and when appropriate outside agencies.
3. To contribute to the generic functioning of the team.
4. To contribute to physiotherapy student placements.
5. To participate in service development and audits.

Knowledge Essential
NVQ level 3 or equivalent evidence of interest and developing skills in Mental Health ability to travel across trust for training and appointments as necessary
Desirable
previous experience of working with people within Mental Health setting previous experience of electronic systems, information gathering, record keeping, ordering equipment previous experience of working in a Multidisciplinary team
Knowledge Essential
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with service users to achieve goals
Knowledge Essential
knowledge of how an MDT works and the role of a physiotherapy assistant
