We are delighted to invite candidates to apply to work with us in this dynamic and expanding ENT department in a beautiful area of Yorkshire.
The ENT department sits within the Head and Neck Directorate (ENT, Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Restorative Dentistry, Plastic Surgery and Audiology) which sits within The Surgery Care Group. The department provides an ENT Service to York, the whole of North Yorkshire and parts of West Yorkshire.
ENT Surgeons currently work at York, Scarborough, Bridlington, Selby, Harrogate and Malton, with out-patient and day case surgery at the peripheral sites. In-patient activity is at the York site where there is a well-established, dedicated Head and Neck Ward. This post is based at York Hospital, with clinical commitments at Scarborough Hospital.
Individual job plans will be discussed with the post holder on appointment, with the Clinical Director to finalise the job plan which will become operational on commencement. All job plans are agreed in line with the Trusts Job Planning Principles. An on call commitment will be considered dependent on the candidate.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and forward-thinking ENT surgeon to this post, who will work well within the team to continue to develop a number of leading regional services.
The department and Trust both offer a welcoming and dynamic working environment, with opportunities to participate in teaching medical students from the Hull York Medical School (HYMS). Research opportunities are encouraged.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and skill. Eligible for full GMC registration with license to practice. Able to teach clinical skills. Able to critically review and apply research to clinical situations. Experience of undertaking audits and presenting their findings Is up to date and fit to practise safely.
Desirable
MD or equivalent higher degree or evidence of relevant research in Ear Nose and throat Substantive NHS experience
Clinical practice/ Mentoring Essential
Experience in teaching & supervising medical students and junior trainees. Candidates must be able to demonstrate clinical experience and skill in all areas of ENT.

Experience of supervising SpRs/specialist trainees
