Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Durham and Darlington CAMHS Eating Disorder Team. This is a role within a diverse team and a service with high demand.
The successful candidates would be expected to work alongside other members of the multi-disciplinary team as well as liaise with external agencies such as education and local authority.
The team work across 2 bases; North End House in Durham and The Acley Centre in Newton Aycliffe. There will be an expectation to travel across both and other CAMHS bases.
The role can be demanding but also highly rewarding so you will need to be someone who is motivated, resilient and passionate about working with this client group.
This post is not open to trainees therefore the successful applicants will need a Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care and Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent to be recruited into this Band 4 position.

Main duties of the job
The candidate will be working alongside the MDT in monitoring physical health, regularly facilitating physical observations, including taking bloods. The candidate will have the opportunity to complete venepuncture training if not already trained.
The role will include supporting the children and young people by providing therapeutic interventions, meal support and coaching to families within the community.
Providing support to the MDT in reporting progress and observations of the children and young people.

Person Specification
Qualifications/Experience and knowledge Essential
Level 5 Accredited Qualification in a Health related subject Or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and willingness to work towards achieving a Level 5 Accredited Qualification in a health related subject (to be achieved within 2 years) Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent) Previous experience with working with people with Mental ill Health or Learning Disabilities working as a HCA or equivalent in a care environment e.g. Care worker in a Care Home, Domiciliary Worker, Lived Experience Carer. Person Centred Care Awareness of legal frameworks including Mental Health legislation eg Mental Health Act or Mental Capacity Act.
Skills Essential
Time management and ability to prioritise effectively Competency in record keeping (within agreed timescales) Effective verbal and written communication skills Approved techniques in physical intervention (within agreed timescale).
