Job summary
The Perinatal CMHT are looking for an enthusiastic Band 6 CPN to join our team in South Derbyshire, based at the Radbourne Unit, Derby. Experience of the Perinatal service is not required but an keen interest in the area is essential. The Post is for a specialist assessor role who will have previous experience of completing in-depth assessments and will be responsible for assessing a range of mental health difficulties suffered by pregnant women and those with infants up to two years old. this will include identifying risk factors, evaluating the parent-infant relationship, and determining the most appropriate treatment pathway. This may include signposting and referring on to psychological therapies, primary care, third sector organisations and also referrals within the perinatal mental health for specific pathways
This post is 37.50 per hours a week, and is a Fixed term 12 Month contract
The perinatal mental health service cares for women who are suffering with moderate to severe mental health problems, from the end of the first trimester in pregnancy up until the baby is two years old.
The service works with women and their families from Derby City and North and South Derbyshire .
We operate a flexible hybrid working model, with staff working from home and the office on a rota basis. Through investment in digital technology, we offer both video and face-to-face appointments, providing patients with greater choice in how they access our service.
Main duties of the job
You will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary community team offering a comprehensive perinatal mental health service to women experiencing mental health difficulties in the perinatal period.
You will be responsible for facilitating assessments of women with a range of mental health difficulties and where appropriate signposting to other services. you may support in the triaging of referrals into the team on a rota basis. We also operate a dedicated advice line where you will be able to support and advise other professionals who are thinking of referring into our service.
You will need to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across primary care, secondary care and children's social care agencies.
We are committed to the training and development of future nurses who we have on regular placement and you will be expected to contribute to this through mentorship and facilitating learning opportunities.

Our service has been accredited for many years by the Royal College of Psychiatrists Care Quality Network for Perinatal Mental Health, as we have met and adhere to the required standards for delivering perinatal care in the community, ensuring best practise is adhered to.
We have a weekly MDT where you will be able to discuss referrals and the recent assessments you have carried out along with any support you may need to outcome these.
Local induction, along with the Trusts corporate induction, will be provided and there are opportunities available to access training to support the development of your knowledge and skills in this area. Induction will also include shadowing experienced members of the team and regular clinical, managerial and team supervision.
