POSITION INFO: The Paralegal provides legal, administrative, and project support to the Legal Department by assisting with contract administration, legal research, corporate governance, compliance activities, litigation management, and records maintenance. This role partners with internal stakeholders and outside counsel to support the efficient delivery of legal services while ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. This role requires adaptability, technological proficiency, and a willingness to embrace emerging legal technologies, including AI-assisted tools, to drive efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement in service delivery. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review • Draft, review, organize and maintain legal documents, correspondence, contracts, and reports • Support the full contract lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, routing, execution, storage, renewal tracking, and document management processes • Coordinate activities with outside counsel and legal service providers • Maintain and organize corporate records, entity documentation, and physical and electronic legal files • Assist with corporate governance matters, including resolutions and board related documentation • Support litigation management and case preparation, including document collection, discovery responses, legal holds, hearings, depositions, and trials • Lead the organization, coordination, and ongoing management of the company’s nationwide asbestos docket • Track deadlines, regulatory filings, contract renewals, and other legal obligations • Support merger, acquisition, and integration activities through due diligence, document review, records collection, and post-closing legal documentation • Support compliance initiatives, policy administration, and training efforts • Prepare reports, presentations, and legal summaries for attorneys and business leaders • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive legal and business information • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned EXPERIENCE: • Minimum of 3-5 years of paralegal experience preferred, including experience in a corporate legal department, law firm, or related legal environment EDUCATION: • Associate’s degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred • Paralegal certification (NALA, NFPA, or equivalent) preferred TRAINING AND SKILLS: • Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation • Experience with contract management, document management, and records management systems • Working knowledge of legal technology platforms, including AI-assisted legal tools, with the ability to responsibly and effectively leverage technology to support legal research, drafting, document review, and operational efficiency • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Excellent organizational and time management abilities • High attention to detail and accuracy • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment • Experience interacting with internal business stakeholders and outside counsel PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: • Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods • Ability to occasionally lift and move files and records up to 10 pounds • Professional office environment • Occasional travel may be required NIBCO is committed to equal opportunity employment.
