The PIT Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of powered industrial equipment to move, store, and retrieve product throughout the warehouse. This position supports daily inbound, outbound, inventory, and replenishment activities while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards. Essential Responsibilities Operate powered industrial equipment, including stand-up reach trucks, order pickers, dock stockers, turret trucks, electric pallet jacks, and forklifts as assigned. Safely transport materials and products to designated warehouse locations. Perform put-away, replenishment, picking, staging, and loading/unloading functions. Accurately scan products and locations using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS). Verify product quantities, item numbers, and storage locations. Conduct daily pre-shift equipment inspections and report any safety concerns or equipment damage. Maintain inventory accuracy by following established processes and procedures. Adhere to all GXO safety policies, OSHA regulations, and operational standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S principles. Assist with cycle counts, audits, and physical inventory activities as needed. Support cross-functional warehouse operations during peak periods. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. 6 months or more of warehouse experience preferred. Previous PIT equipment experience preferred but not required. Ability to obtain and maintain GXO PIT certification. Basic math and reading skills. Ability to operate RF scanners and warehouse systems. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong commitment to workplace safety. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and shift adjustments as business needs require. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the shift. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently. Ability to work at heights when operating elevated equipment. Ability to work in various warehouse conditions, including temperature fluctuations. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Preferred Qualifications Previous experience operating multiple types of PIT equipment. Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS). Experience in high-volume distribution or fulfillment environments. Inventory control, cycle counting, or quality experience is a plus. Internal Posting Requirements Good standing with GXO, including satisfactory attendance and performance. No active corrective actions within the review period. Demonstrated commitment to safety and operational excellence. Ability to successfully complete PIT training, certification, and practical evaluation.
