The Impact You'll Make Ensure the effective governance, control, and continuous improvement of import and export processes, procedures, and data, ensuring full compliance with applicable customs regulations in Mexico and the United States. Collaborate closely with the team, customs brokers, carriers, and technology service providers to secure efficient, compliant, and uninterrupted cross-border operations while supporting business objectives and operational excellence. What You’ll Be Doing Ensure import and export transactions are executed in compliance with applicable customs regulations, trade requirements, and internal policies in Mexico and the United States. Review, validate, and maintain trade-related documentation to support compliant and efficient cross-border operations. Support tariff classification activities by collecting and maintaining product information required for customs compliance and trade reporting. Coordinate with customs brokers, transportation providers, and other external partners to ensure timely customs clearance and uninterrupted material flow. Monitor compliance with tariff and non-tariff regulations, import permits, and government requirements applicable to international trade operations. Maintain and reconcile customs inventory control records in accordance with Annex 24 requirements and company procedures. Assist in the preparation, analysis, and submission of information required for customs audits, government inspections, and compliance reviews. Generate, analyze, and maintain trade compliance metrics, reports, and records to support operational performance and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Finance to ensure alignment with trade compliance requirements. Identify compliance risks, process gaps, and improvement opportunities, supporting the implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Maintain accurate trade data within SAP and other customs compliance systems to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance. Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance trade compliance processes, operational efficiency, and customer service. Provide guidance and day-to-day support to internal stakeholders regarding import/export requirements, documentation, and customs compliance matters. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in International Trade, International Business, or a related field. Professional internship or early career experience in Import/Export operations and trade compliance processes. Knowledge of Mexican and U.S. customs regulations and international trade requirements. Basic understanding of tariff classification principles and customs documentation requirements. Familiarity with tariff and non-tariff regulations applicable to international trade operations. Basic knowledge of VUCEM/VUTCE processes for the management of import permits and related trade documentation. Understanding of inventory control requirements and customs compliance processes related to Annex 24. Familiarity with preferential and sector-specific trade programs, including IMMEX, PROSEC, Rule 8, and similar schemes. General knowledge of international trade agreements applicable to Mexico. Understanding of certified company programs and supply chain security initiatives, including C-TPAT. Customer-focused mindset with strong service orientation and collaboration skills. Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and verbal. Basic knowledge of SAP and customs compliance/inventory control software solutions.
