Role: Supplier Quality Development • Global Coordination Tasks: - Coordination of all employees within the assigned categories (Assessments, Business partnering, escalation management, etc.) - Supports Budget Planning within the Category • Functional Development of SQD Team: - Ensure and enhance functional maturity of the organization - Competency management - Conduct functional reviews of content of work and derive potentials for improvement - Ensure the technology related trainings for entire SQM community - Define category specific methodological requirements - Conduct lessons learned and best practice sharing - Create team cohesion and global team mindset within the global SQD Team for assigned category - Foster strategic mindset • Supplier Strategy: - Define and implement a global qualitative and technology-specific supplier strategy in cooperation with the global category manager - Manage the global supplier portfolio in cooperation with the category manager - Ensure close collaboration with business partners (e.g., region, division) - Ensure continuous development and execution of measures based on strategy - Create clear annual roadmap for strategy implementation - Supplier Approval and Onboarding - Release of the suppliers and/or material groups (in SAP) Role: Supplier Quality Development (SQD) • Regular KPIs/PIs tracking and reporting • Initiate the escalation process, if appropriate • Supplier Strategy: - Provide input for regional specifics and implementation of the global qualitative and technology-specific supplier strategy in cooperation with PUR Counterpart - Execute tasks based on the supplier portfolio management - Provide recommendation of the suppliers for sourcing councils regarding quality and technology performance and their potential - Support purchasing in supplier scouting to fulfill the potential business needs • Supplier Approval and Onboarding: - Plan and conduct Supplier Initial Assessments to evaluate and approve potential suppliers (including follow-up of needed development actions) • Supplier Development of active suppliers: - Monitor supplier's risk based on supplier surveillance process and conduct onsite assessments based on the supplier surveillance process, including planning, implementation and follow-up of actions - Initiate and follow-up of actions based on the quality indicators - Decide on implementation of the supplier development programs (e.g. SIP) - Ensure escalation to the management level of supplier, if appropriate • Supplier Evaluation: - Ensure communication with supplier (answer questions regarding the methodology and result of yearly supplier evaluation) Define and ensure suitable actions, if appropriate • Further activities: - Implement task force actions in case of escalated problems with suppliers globally - Provide explanation and support in negotiating quality-related supplier contracts and documents - Actively Role: Supplier Quality Component Introduction (SQC) • Management of assigned suppliers and components in the PRE-SERIAL phase of the projects: - Sourcing activities (feasibility commitment, Q-readiness, obtain feedback reagarding technical specification from supplier) - Manage the Component introduction (CI) with suppliers respecting deadlines and Schaeffler´s requirements - Conduct Supplier Component Review (milestone reviews) - Track and document the CI status and regularly report to SQP - Implement and follow up on actions to avoid jeopardizing of the production in Schaeffler - Ensure the implementation of Schaeffler´s requirements for suppliers within the assigned project - Conduct supplier audits (Run@Rate - Capacity verification & Process Audit VDA 6.3- PAC) - Ensure full approval of initial samples within CI - Ensure hand-over of the CI project to SQS after the Safe launch (exit criteria for Safe launch must be fulfilled) - Manage Special release process for prototypes/samples with deviations from the drawing - Processing of suppliers complaints and collaborate on the complaints costs management within CI phase (CI starts with sourcing, ends with Safe launch)
