Job Overview Cost accounting professionals, ready for your next opportunity? This position can be based in St. Louis, MO, Farmington, CT, Shelton, CT, or Greenville, SC and report directly to the Hubbell Utility Solutions Assistant Segment Controller. This position will support execution of cost control processes, inventory management, and financial reporting for manufacturing operations. This position will execute monthly closing cycles, annual standard cost rolls and inventory controls. They will interface regularly with the BU cost managers to drive consistency in processes throughout the segment. A Day In The Life Maintains robust controls throughout the businesses and help to identify and address potential risks in a timely manner Assists in monthly variance analysis including, but not limited to, PPV, freight, tariff, material usage, production order, labor, and burden (overhead) variances. Supports monitoring of earned hours, scrap and COGS within the businesses Monitors work orders and inventory movements throughout the month Completes monthly closing journal entries and account reconciliations Ensures accurate allocation of costs across cost centers and general ledger accounts Prepares monthly variance analysis regarding production costs Compiles and shares monthly productivity reports, ensuring data accuracy and timely distribution Conducts detailed analysis of operations consumption and identifies discrepancies for corrective action Collaborates on the development and refinement of reporting tools and templates to improve data visibility and decision-making Assists in execution of annual physical inventories Special projects as assigned What will help you thrive in this role? Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA or CMA preferred 4-6 years manufacturing accounting experience. Ability to travel 25-30% SAP, OneStream and Blackline experience is preferred Deep understanding of cost accounting, product costing and analysis of manufacturing variances Self-starter who can work independently and execute projects effectively. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy Experience with ERP software (JDE/SAP preferred) Strong understanding of accounting principles Strong understanding of internal controls, process flows and policies and procedures Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to perform in a fast-paced, forward-thinking work environment Proficient in verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
