As our Safety Manager – Operations , you’ll play a critical role in protecting our people and strengthening safety across our processing operations. This isn’t a role about managing safety from behind a desk. You’ll be out in the operation, partnering with leaders and teams, understanding how work actually gets done and ensuring safety enables performance. You’ll lead the safety agenda across Operations, strengthen critical controls, coach leaders to own safety outcomes and build a proactive culture where risks are understood and addressed before they become incidents. Responsibilities: Partner with operational leaders to embed a proactive, line-led safety culture where safety ownership sits at every level. Lead and continuously improve safe systems of work, critical controls and BINGO’s Zero Harm approach. Spend time on site identifying hazards, challenging unsafe practices and coaching leaders and employees on safer ways of working. Provide assurance around critical risks, safety systems and regulatory exposure across our processing operations. Lead major incident investigations using ICAM , ensuring learnings translate into practical improvements. Lead, coach and manage the performance of your direct report, our NSW Safety Officer Monitor safety performance, identify trends and provide clear, action-focused reporting to leadership. Continually improve safety governance and systems, including Intelex , risk registers and safety forums. Develop engaging safety communication, training and Toolbox Talks that build risk awareness across our workforce. Maintain strong relationships with relevant regulators and industry bodies What makes you a GOgetter: Relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrated experience as a senior safety professional or safety leader. Ideally, you’ve developed your safety career within waste, recycling or resource recovery operations. Alternatively, you’ll bring experience from another complex, high-risk processing environment such as mining, manufacturing or heavy industry. You understand operational risk and can develop safety controls that are practical, effective and workable on the frontline . Strong experience in safe work systems, critical risk management, auditing, incident investigation and implementing sustainable safety improvements. A natural ability to influence, challenge and coach operational leaders while building strong relationships with frontline teams. Experience with safety management systems such as ISO 45001, AS/NZS 4801 or similar . Strong analytical capability with the ability to turn safety data and trends into meaningful action.
