About this role

Job Title: Production Operator Job DescriptionThe Production Operator plays a key role in achieving daily production targets while ensuring high product quality and on-time shipment to customers. In this role, you set up and operate production equipment, verify product quality using precision measuring tools, and accurately document quality and productivity data. You work with hand tools, cranes, and computer systems to move materials efficiently and support a smooth, safe, and reliable production flow.Responsibilities

• Set up and operate production equipment according to established procedures and specifications. • Monitor production processes and troubleshoot issues related to job setup to maintain smooth operations. • Adjust and adhere to proper feeds, speeds, and machine settings to maximize production levels while maintaining quality. • Safely operate cranes, hoists, and powered industrial vehicles (PIVs) to lift and move material throughout the facility. • Complete all related production tasks accurately and within department-specific takt times. • Perform short cycle tasks typically completed in less than 2 hours while holding tolerances of approximately +/- 0.003 inches. • Inspect work thoroughly before releasing it to the next operation to ensure it meets quality standards. • Use computers to expedite parts and prioritize work in order to meet customer demands and delivery schedules. • Maintain all required documentation related to quality checks, measurements, and productivity metrics. • Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a clean, organized, and efficient work area. Essential Skills

• Ability to read and work from blueprints and sketches without deviation. • Proficiency in using hand and power tools in a production or industrial environment. • Ability to use measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures with accuracy. • Capability to confirm quality using go/no-go gauges and other inspection tools. • Ability to safely operate cranes, hoists, and powered industrial vehicles (PIVs) after appropriate training. • Comfort using computers to track parts, update records, and support production workflows. • Strong attention to detail with the ability to hold tight tolerances of approximately +/- 0.003 inches. • Positive and professional attitude with a commitment to core values and respect for colleagues. • Previous manufacturing or warehousing experience preferred. • Experience working in a production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment. • Familiarity with takt time and short cycle production work. • Comfort working with precision measurement tools and quality documentation. • Strong problem-solving skills for resolving setup and production issues. • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. You work primarily on 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The environment includes production machinery, cranes, hoists, and powered industrial vehicles, as well as computer workstations for tracking parts and recording data. Work involves standing, moving materials, and operating tools and equipment in a structured, process-driven setting that emphasizes safety, precision, and adherence to production schedules. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Greene, NY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.50 - $23.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
