Job Title: General Production WorkerJob DescriptionThis General Production Worker role focuses on brick handling, packaging, and cutting in a fast-paced brick manufacturing plant. You will work on a packaging line, building pallets of bricks and supporting overall production. After a probationary period, the position becomes incentive-based, rewarding strong performance and productivity. Responsibilities • Handle bricks safely and efficiently throughout the production process, including moving, sorting, and staging materials. • Package bricks by the pallet on a packaging line, ensuring correct quantities, secure stacking, and stable wrapping for shipment. • Perform brick cutting as needed, following production specifications and quality standards. • Work according to a production and performance schedule, maintaining a steady pace to meet daily output targets. • Use basic hand tools and equipment to support production and packaging activities. • Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the shift. • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working around machinery and in a busy plant environment. • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations. • Collaborate with team members and communicate any issues related to quality, safety, or equipment performance. • Adapt to changing production needs, including assisting in other areas of the plant as required. Essential Skills • Experience working as a laborer or production worker in a manufacturing or similar environment. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently over the course of the shift. • Comfort working in a fast-paced, production and performance-based environment. • Experience following a production schedule and meeting output expectations. • Familiarity with forklifts (operation or working around them), as applicable to the role and training provided. • Ability to use basic hand tools safely and effectively. • Comfort working in a physical, hands-on role that involves repetitive tasks and manual labor. • Ability to use or read a tape measure to support accurate measurements when required. • Strong attention to safety and willingness to follow established safety procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience as a construction worker, particularly in masonry or building materials environments. • Experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing or industrial setting. • Prior experience working in a brick plant or heavy building products facility. • Familiarity with older industrial machinery and willingness to learn basic equipment operation. • Experience working in a union environment. Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a brick plant environment that is non-climate controlled, so temperatures will vary with the seasons. The work is highly physical and involves manual labor, including consistently lifting up to 50 pounds and handling bricks throughout the shift. You will work around older industrial machinery and production equipment, and the environment can become dusty due to the nature of the product being manufactured. The facility operates as a union environment. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with additional hours as needed to meet production demands. Appropriate work attire should be suitable for an industrial plant, with a focus on safety and comfort in a dusty, physically demanding setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Iberia, OH. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.87 - $20.87/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
