Job Title: Production SupervisorJob DescriptionThe Production Supervisor oversees rolling and slitting operations on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role leads machine operators, drives process improvements, and supports continuous improvement initiatives within an industrial manufacturing environment. Responsibilities • Supervise rolling and slitting machine operators to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent production performance. • Oversee day-to-day rolling and slitting operations, including start-up, shutdown, and changeover activities. • Monitor production processes and outputs to maintain quality standards and minimize waste and rework. • Coordinate workflow and staffing across the 2-2-3 rotating schedule to meet production targets and deadlines. • Provide clear direction, coaching, and feedback to production team members to support their development and performance. • Ensure adherence to established procedures, safety policies, and operational standards on the production floor. • Identify process bottlenecks and improvement opportunities, and support the implementation of process improvement initiatives. • Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and other departments to resolve production issues and maintain equipment uptime. • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including output, downtime, and any deviations from standard processes. • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and accountability within the production team. Essential Skills • Proven experience in production supervision within an industrial or manufacturing environment. • Hands-on experience overseeing machine operators in a fast-paced production setting. • Strong understanding of rolling and slitting operations or similar continuous manufacturing processes. • Ability to lead, motivate, and guide a team across rotating shifts. • Solid knowledge of production workflows, throughput, and basic industrial operations. • Experience applying process improvement methods to enhance efficiency and quality. • Strong organizational and time management skills to coordinate multiple tasks and priorities. • Effective communication skills to provide clear instructions and feedback to team members. • Ability to work a rotating 2-2-3 schedule with 12-hour shifts (7am7pm and 7pm7am). Additional Skills & Qualifications • Rolling and slitting experience is preferred. • Continuous improvement experience is a plus. • Familiarity with Six Sigma principles or similar process improvement methodologies is an advantage. • Background in industrial production environments with exposure to structured process improvement programs. • Comfort using production metrics and data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Work EnvironmentThis role is based in an industrial production facility focused on rolling and slitting operations. The position follows a rotating 2-2-3 schedule, working 12-hour shifts from 7am7pm and then 7pm7am every 28 days, with one week at 36 hours and the following week at 48 hours. You will work closely with machine operators and other production personnel on the manufacturing floor, where adherence to safety procedures and appropriate industrial attire is required. The environment is fast-paced and process-driven, with a strong emphasis on efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Saint Louis, MO. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
