Job Title: WelderJob DescriptionThis role focuses on the manufacturing and fabrication of steel products for commercial and industrial construction projects. You will perform MIG welding on structural steel beams, assemble and fabricate components, and ensure all products meet quality and safety standards. The position involves working with heavy materials, operating industrial equipment, and reading blueprints to produce precise and structurally sound products.Responsibilities
• Perform MIG welding on structural steel beams with thicknesses ranging from 1 to 2 inches. • Fabricate steel parts and assemble beams according to specifications and project requirements. • Work with various types of steel materials to create commercial and industrial construction products. • Operate an overhead crane as needed to move and position heavy materials and beams safely. • Use hand tools to grind and finish welds, ensuring clean and structurally sound joints. • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to guide fabrication and welding activities. • Operate a forklift to transport materials and finished products within the facility and yard. • Conduct visual inspections of all products to verify weld quality and confirm welds are laid correctly. • Lift and handle materials weighing up to 70 pounds as required during daily operations. • Support general production and yard work as needed to maintain workflow and production schedules. Essential Skills
• At least 5 years of MIG welding experience. • Minimum of 1 year of structural steel welding experience within those 5 years. • Proficiency in structural welding on steel beams with thicknesses of 1 to 2 inches. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics accurately. • Experience using measuring tapes and other measuring tools to ensure precise fabrication. • Hands-on experience with structural welds in a production or fabrication environment. • Capability to lift up to 70 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties. • Experience operating overhead cranes in a manufacturing or fabrication setting. • Experience operating forklifts in a production or yard environment. • Skill in using hand tools for grinding and finishing welds. • Experience in fabrication, production, and general production work. The role includes a second shift differential of 1.50. You will primarily work in the production area and in or near the paint area, where bay doors open and close frequently, exposing the space to outdoor conditions. Much of the work takes place outside, so you must be prepared to dress appropriately for the weather and elements. The environment involves regular use of overhead cranes, forklifts, and hand tools, as well as handling heavy steel materials. The dress code requires steel-toe footwear and pants, and it is recommended to wear a long-sleeve shirt for added protection. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Billings, MT. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $31.00/hr.
