Job Title: Service PlumberJob DescriptionThe Service Plumber performs daily service calls using a company work vehicle, completing plumbing repairs, installations, remodels, and material cutting in residential and light commercial settings. This role combines strong technical plumbing skills with professional customer service, ensuring high-quality workmanship and a positive experience for every customer. Responsibilities • Perform 13 plumbing service calls per day in residential and light commercial environments. • Diagnose, repair, and install plumbing systems, fixtures, and components according to industry standards and local codes. • Complete sewer replacements and repairs, including troubleshooting and resolving sewer-related issues. • Carry out plumbing work for remodels, including cutting, fitting, and installing piping and related materials. • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to perform plumbing tasks and material cutting. • Operate from a service van, ensuring it is organized, stocked, and maintained for daily service calls. • Provide professional, courteous customer service and communicate clearly with customers about work performed and recommended solutions. • Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working in residential and light commercial settings. • Participate in a two-week training period at the start of employment to learn company standards, processes, and expectations. • Document work performed, materials used, and any additional services or projects recommended to customers. Essential Skills • Minimum of 3 years of experience in service plumbing. • Proficiency in plumbing service work, including repairs, installations, and sewer replacements and repairs. • Experience working with PVC and other common piping materials. • Ability to perform mechanical and installation tasks related to plumbing systems. • Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools for plumbing applications. • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills for working in residential settings and light commercial environments. • Capability to manage multiple daily service calls while maintaining quality and professionalism. • Valid drivers license and ability to operate a service vehicle safely. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Any plumbing-related certifications are a plus and may qualify for higher compensation. • Ability to provide and maintain personal hand tools and most power tools required for daily plumbing tasks. • Comfort working independently in the field while representing the company to customers. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing plumbing issues. • Good communication skills for explaining findings, recommendations, and solutions to customers. Work EnvironmentThis role focuses on residential service work with some light commercial assignments, providing variety in daily tasks and job sites. You work primarily out of a service van equipped with the tools and materials needed for daily calls. You supply your own hand tools and most power tools, while larger equipment such as jackhammers, sewer cameras, and large power saws is provided. The work involves traveling to customer locations, entering occupied homes and businesses, and delivering professional, courteous service in person. The environment is hands-on and field-based, requiring safe use of tools and equipment, adherence to safety practices, and a professional appearance when interacting with customers. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Independence, MO. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.
