Job Title: Mechatronics & Robotics TechnicianJob DescriptionThis role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving automated material handling and robotic systems within a high-volume operations environment. As a Maintenance Technician II, you will support the Operations Maintenance team by installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining material handling equipment, automated packaging lines, distribution equipment, and pneumatic systems. You will perform both predictive and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support safe, efficient building operations. Responsibilities • Install, inspect, repair, and maintain material handling equipment such as automated conveyor systems and related components. • Perform quality predictive and preventative maintenance routines on material handling equipment, robotics, and pneumatic systems, following established documentation and procedures. • Complete and document preventative maintenance activities, including PM sheets and related records, to ensure compliance and traceability. • Perform battery changes and conduct preventative maintenance on industrial batteries and related equipment. • Enter downtime and maintenance data into daily logs accurately and in a timely manner to support performance tracking and continuous improvement. • Create, manage, and close work orders within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). • Troubleshoot and identify problems with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, including automated conveyors and material handling equipment. • Diagnose issues using blueprints, electrical schematics, and knowledge of electrical and electronic principles to determine root causes and corrective actions. • Track, organize, and maintain department inventory, including spare parts and critical components, to support timely repairs and maintenance. • Follow and demonstrate safety standards and procedures while working on material handling equipment and automated systems. • Support building operations by troubleshooting basic input and output functions of building systems and equipment. • Collaborate with other maintenance and operations team members to resolve equipment issues, improve reliability, and support continuous improvement initiatives. • Apply knowledge of MHE safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidelines and internal safety requirements. • Assist with the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of robotic systems and PLC-based control systems as needed. Essential Skills • At least 2+ years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures on industrial or automated equipment. • Minimum 2+ years of experience repairing material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls. • At least 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics. • Minimum 2+ years of knowledge and practical application of electrical and electronic principles in an industrial environment. • At least 2+ years of experience following and demonstrating safety standards while working with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. • Minimum 1+ year of experience troubleshooting and performing diagnostics on MHE systems, including conveyors and related automation. • At least 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office products and applications. • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems in an industrial maintenance setting. • Experience working with automated conveyor systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair. • Proven ability to complete preventative maintenance tasks accurately and consistently. • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. • Strong ability to interpret technical documentation, including OEM manuals, schematics, and maintenance procedures. • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy when entering downtime and maintenance data in logs or systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environments performing maintenance on complex systems and industrial equipment, including diagnostics, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and creating work orders. • Hands-on experience with conveyors and other material handling equipment (MHE), including controls and robotics. • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for managing work orders and maintenance records. • Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions of building operations and related control systems. • Continuous improvement mindset with a strong desire to learn, grow, and expand skills in reliability and maintenance engineering. • Experience with MHE safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidelines and internal safety practices. • Associate degree or higher from a vocational school or college with a focus in the mechanical or electrical field. • Completion of a 2+ year apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the mechanical or electrical field. • At least 2+ years of experience working with PLC-based control systems, including basic troubleshooting and support. • Experience with robotic operation and maintenance, including basic diagnostics and corrective actions. • Strong organizational skills for managing spare parts inventory and maintenance documentation. • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional maintenance and operations teams. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in an industrial operations facility that uses automated conveyor systems, material handling equipment, and robotics to support packaging and distribution activities. You will work around mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, using tools such as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Microsoft Office applications, and PLC-based controls. The environment is fast-paced and equipment-intensive, requiring adherence to safety procedures and MHE safety standards in line with OEM guidelines. Work may involve standing, walking, and working around moving machinery for extended periods, as well as performing battery maintenance and handling spare parts inventory in a shop or warehouse setting. Appropriate industrial work attire and personal protective equipment are required to perform daily tasks safely. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr.
