Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer Department LeadJob DescriptionWe are seeking a highly experienced and licensed Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the Electrical Department. In this leadership role, you provide technical direction, oversee the analysis, design, and documentation of building electrical systems, and ensure that all work complies with applicable codes and standards. You manage electrical projects from concept through construction, guide and mentor the engineering team, and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary partners to deliver coordinated, highquality solutions. Responsibilities • Lead and manage the Electrical Department, providing daytoday technical guidance, mentorship, and support to engineering and design staff. • Oversee the analysis, design, and documentation of building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting systems, fire alarm and life safety systems, and security and communication systems. • Develop schematic designs, construction documents, and technical specifications that align with client requirements and comply with all relevant codes and standards. • Review and approve electrical design calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates to ensure accuracy, completeness, and constructability. • Supervise constructionrelated services, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), and conducting field and site surveys and observations. • Attend and actively participate in coordination and project meetings to resolve design issues, support decisionmaking, and maintain project alignment across disciplines. • Collaborate closely with architects, engineers from other disciplines, owners, product manufacturers, vendors, and contractors to ensure fully coordinated electrical designs. • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and coordination of construction documents across all disciplines, identifying and resolving conflicts before construction. • Serve as Project Manager for electrical scopes of work, managing schedules, budgets, deliverables, and resource allocation to meet project goals. • Apply technical expertise in electrical power and distribution systems, lighting and lighting control systems, fire alarm and life safety systems, and security and communication systems throughout project phases. • Perform short circuit and voltage drop analysis and other necessary engineering studies to validate design performance and safety. • Conduct field inspections and provide construction support, verifying installation against design intent and addressing issues that arise during construction. • Support continuous improvement of department standards, tools, and processes, including the use of Revit, AutoCAD, and power system analysis software in project delivery. Essential Skills • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering; a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred. • Minimum of 10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience, with a focus on building, industrial, or facility electrical design. • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Electrical Engineering, or eligibility and commitment to obtain PE licensure; FE or SE licensure is acceptable with a clear path to PE. • Demonstrated experience leading or managing an electrical engineering team or department, including mentoring and technical oversight. • Strong technical expertise in electrical power and distribution systems, lighting and lighting control systems, fire alarm and life safety systems, and security and communication systems. • Proficiency in performing short circuit and voltage drop analysis and other power system studies. • Handson experience with field inspections, site surveys, and providing construction support for electrical systems. • Advanced proficiency with industrystandard design software, including Revit, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and other Autodesk programs. • Proficiency with electrical power system analysis tools such as EasyPower and SKM Power Tools. • Proven ability to prepare and review schematic designs, construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates for complex projects. • Strong project management skills, including experience managing schedules, budgets, and deliverables for electrical scopes of work. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with architects, engineers, owners, vendors, and contractors. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred and supports advancement into higherlevel technical and leadership responsibilities. • LEED Accreditation is preferred and demonstrates commitment to sustainable and energyefficient design practices. • Industrial and facility design experience is highly preferred, including work on complex industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, or large commercial buildings. • Experience using Revit for multidisciplinary coordination and modelbased design in building projects. • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical for detailed electrical schematics and panel layouts. • Ability to develop and refine department standards, workflows, and best practices to improve efficiency and quality. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fastpaced environment. • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, safety, and code compliance in all aspects of electrical design and documentation. • Interest in professional development, including obtaining or upgrading licensure and certifications; support is available for pursuing PE licensure if not already held. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Beverly Hills, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $140000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Medical, dental, and vision insurance are offered. Employees have reported receiving 2 weeks of vacation initially, increasing to 3 weeks after 5 years.
