About this role

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Job DescriptionAs a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining methods, operation sequences, and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. You will interface with design engineering to coordinate the release of new products, estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. You will also maintain records and reporting systems to coordinate manufacturing operations.Responsibilities

• Analyze existing and revised technical data packages to develop, produce, and sustain assembly instructions, manufacturing routers, assembly aides, fixtures, and tooling in a brownfield environment. • Contribute to the development of manufacturing work cells, flow lines, and workspace requirements from material flow, visual management, and bottleneck perspectives. • Influence design work to achieve efficient low production costs without compromising function and quality. • Develop new technical solutions and efficient production systems and assembly lines based on Lean principles. • Assist in the development of Tiered Meeting Architecture, 5S, and idea systems. • Engage with assemblers, technicians, and inspectors to improve value-add processes and workplace organization. • Develop and implement factory layouts and production flow in conjunction with existing facility and capital buildout. • Champion company values by demonstrating trust, drive, expertise, and support. • Assist in creating basis of estimates for manufacturing activities in support of proposals. Essential Skills

• Bachelors degree in mechanical, industrial engineering, or related engineering discipline. • 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to collaborate effectively across functional areas. • Demonstrated effective listening and communication skills across varying environments and audiences. • Understanding of cycle time, takt time, and bottleneck analysis. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience or formal training with new product development, prototype development, and early manufacturing processes. • Formal training in Factory Physics and/or Lean Manufacturing. • Experience with Six Sigma tools and processes. • Ability to work extended or flexible schedules to support the business. • Prior Department of Defense (DoD) experience. Work EnvironmentThe position is set in a manufacturing environment, where you will work with state-of-the-art technologies and equipment. You will collaborate with a dynamic team to drive continuous improvement and efficient production. The role may require flexible working hours to meet business demands. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Syracuse, NY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
