About this role
Mechanical EngineerThis Mechanical Engineer role offers the opportunity to contribute across the full project lifecycle, from equipment selection and proposal support to detailed design, documentation, testing, and field commissioning. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, service, and sales teams to develop and support mechanical systems involving fluid systems, pumps, valves, and piping, while gaining experience under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer and progressing toward professional licensure.Responsibilities
• Support global sales efforts by assisting with equipment selection, proposal development, technical responses, and preparation of budgetary estimates. • Review customer specifications, drawings, and site information to identify technical questions, missing information, and potential project risks. • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including submittals, bills of materials (BOMs), equipment lists, manuals, startup packages, and closeout documents. • Create, revise, and maintain 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD to support product and system designs. • Update P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, piping layouts, and fabrication details while maintaining strict revision control. • Support laboratory and pilot testing activities by assisting with equipment setup, data collection, test execution, and documentation of results. • Assemble, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain pilot units and test skids in accordance with engineering drawings and safety requirements. • Travel to customer sites to assist with equipment installation verification, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operator training. • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, service, and sales teams to deliver accurate documentation, resolve technical issues, and support successful project execution. • Perform additional tasks as needed to support evolving business and project needs. Essential Skills
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. • 05 years of engineering, internship, co-op, laboratory, manufacturing, field service, or project experience. • Working knowledge of SolidWorks for 3D modeling and mechanical design. • Working knowledge of AutoCAD for 2D drawings and layouts. • Ability to interpret and produce mechanical drawings, including sub-assemblies and fabrication details. • Familiarity with fluid systems, including pumps, valves, and piping. • Experience or working knowledge related to sub-assembly design, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering changes. • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly in both written and verbal form. • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and documentation sets. • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and system issues. • Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). • Ability and intent to obtain Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification through the FE exam and to pursue PE licensure. • Ability to work on-site four days per week. • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% to support customer, project, and business needs. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Libertyville, IL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $43.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
