This position reports to: Category Manager __ Your Role: Own the Challenge In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of purchasing and logistics activities within the Procurement function. You will execute procurement processes in accordance with ABB standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of sourcing practices. You will also participate in training and development initiatives to ensure compliance and support professional growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-to-mid career procurement professional looking to further develop their sourcing, supplier management, and negotiation skills within a global organization. This position is part of the local procurement team and focuses on tactical sourcing activities, supplier management, RFQ execution, and cost optimization initiatives.
The work model for the role is: On site Global relocation/LTA support will not be considered for this position.
This role is contributing to the ELSP (Smart Power) Business at our site in Monterrey 3.0, Mexico.
Key Responsibilities
• Execute purchasing and sourcing activities to support the business while optimizing cost, quality, and supplier performance. • Supporting the development and execution of local sourcing initiatives to achieve business objectives. • Contribute to the implementation of local sourcing initiatives aligned with business objectives and operational needs. • Applying and implementing procurement standards, tools, and processes in your area of responsibility to secure quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree completed. • 3-5 years of procurement or sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with electromechanical components or equipment is preferred. • Experience managing both national and international suppliers. • Experience managing RFQs (Request for Quotations) and supplier quotations. • Strong negotiation, contract management and analytical skills, including experience reviewing supplier quotations and cost data. • Supplier development and evaluation experience. • Participation in cost-reduction and savings projects. • Advanced English proficiency. • Experience using SAP, MS Office, and Power BI is preferred.
