Technical Lead
Job description: As a .NET Technical Lead, you will provide hands-on technical leadership for a team responsible for customizing, implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting a sophisticated enterprise digital banking platform in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. You will own technical direction and solution quality across the software development lifecycle, translating business needs into scalable designs and guiding delivery from estimation through production deployment. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in .NET, React, SQL, secure coding, and system integration with strong leadership, analytical, consulting, and stakeholder-management skills. You will partner with clients, project managers, QA, Delivery Manager, Project Development, Professional Services, and third-party vendors while mentoring engineers, resolving complex technical challenges, and strengthening long-term client relationships.Key Responsibilities
• Provide hands-on technical leadership for the design, configuration, customization, upgrade, support, and troubleshooting of the digital banking solution across on-premises and hosted environments for desktop and mobile platforms. • Own the technical design and delivery approach, translating business and functional requirements into scalable solution designs, implementation plans, estimates, and delivery commitments. • Lead architecture and design reviews, establish development standards, and make informed technical decisions that support performance, security, maintainability, and product strategy. • Remain hands-on in the codebase by developing critical components, creating proofs of concept, and resolving the team’s most complex engineering challenges. • Lead code and pull-request reviews to enforce coding standards, secure development practices, test coverage, design consistency, and maintainable solutions. • Guide project planning and execution, remove technical impediments, manage dependencies, and communicate delivery risks, blockers, and status to project and technical leadership. • Mentor senior and junior engineers through technical coaching, design guidance, pair programming, knowledge-sharing sessions, and constructive technical feedback. • Partner directly with clients and stakeholders to clarify requirements, explain technical tradeoffs, manage expectations, and recommend effective solutions. • Coordinate with third-party vendors, Product Development, Professional Services, DevOps, QA, and support teams to implement integrations and resolve cross-functional technical issues. • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, CI/CD automation, deployment practices, observability, documentation, and team productivity. • Lead technical triage for critical incidents, perform root-cause analysis, define preventive actions, and support emergency client needs, after-hours deployments, and production releases when required. • Plan and deliver client and internal technical training, including Architect SDK training, while promoting reusable knowledge and consistent engineering practices. Basic Qualifications
• Eight or more years of hands-on software engineering experience designing and delivering secure, responsive, scalable, and mission-critical applications, including two or more years in a technical leadership or lead engineer role. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Required Qualifications
• Expert-level knowledge of C#, ASP.NET Core, RESTful Web APIs, WCF, Entity Framework, and microservices architecture. • Strong experience with client-side technologies, including React, React Native, and TypeScript. • Demonstrated experience defining solution architecture, applying software design patterns and SOLID principles, and evaluating technical tradeoffs for enterprise applications. • Proven ability to lead engineering teams, conduct design and code reviews, mentor developers, delegate effectively, and resolve technical impediments. • Strong delivery leadership across requirements analysis, estimation, planning, development, testing, release, production support, and continuous improvement. • Advanced troubleshooting skills, including debugging, code analysis, performance tuning, root-cause analysis, and reverse engineering. • Strong command of secure software development practices, the OWASP Top 10, vulnerability remediation, and security controls throughout the development lifecycle. • Strong knowledge of SQL Server jobs, replication strategies, linked servers, database design, indexing, query optimization, and production troubleshooting. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions, risks, and options to clients, engineers, and senior stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications
• Proficiency with development and diagnostic tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, GitHub, file comparison utilities, and Microsoft SQL Server management tools. • Experience leading delivery of high-volume, mission-critical web applications, preferably in digital or online banking. • Experience planning and conducting technical training, onboarding, and mentoring in multiple formats. • Familiarity with credit union or banking host systems such as Symitar or Summit. • Experience owning CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, including automated build, testing, deployment, source control, release management, observability, and continuous improvement using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or equivalent platforms. • Experience using and governing AI-powered coding assistants, such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or equivalent tools, to improve development productivity, code quality, documentation, testing, and troubleshooting while maintaining secure coding, intellectual-property, privacy, and responsible AI standards. • Experience leading distributed or cross-functional engineering teams and coordinating delivery across architecture, development, QA, DevOps, support, and business stakeholders. • Experience in banking or financial services, particularly with digital banking applications, is preferred.
