Senior Software Engineer
Job description: As a .NET Senior Software Engineer, you will join a talented team responsible for customizing, implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting a sophisticated enterprise digital banking platform in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. The ideal candidate brings strong software engineering, analytical, problem-solving, and consulting skills, along with experience working directly with clients, project managers, and development teams. The technology environment includes .NET, React, and SQL, with an emphasis on secure coding practices and integrations with third-party vendors, credit unions, and bank host systems. Success in this role requires effective stakeholder collaboration, technical leadership, team development, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that strengthen long-term client relationships and support future customization and product opportunities.Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, customize, upgrade, support, and troubleshoot the digital banking solution across on-premises and hosted environments for desktop and mobile platforms. • Partner directly with clients to understand business needs, define technical and functional requirements, and develop project estimates. • Design, build, test, implement, and deliver reliable, secure, and high-quality software solutions. • Collaborate with third-party vendors to define technical requirements and configure, customize, and implement integrations with external systems. • Provide hands-on development support and resolve complex technical issues in on-premises and hosted client environments. • Work with senior management to define and improve technical processes and procedures that increase efficiency and client satisfaction. • Collaborate with Product Development and Professional Services engineering teams to resolve complex project-related technical issues. • Deliver client training for the Architect SDK in both onsite and local settings. • Lead internal technical training and knowledge-sharing sessions for development teams. • Respond to emergency client incidents and critical business needs that may require work outside standard business hours. • Diagnose and resolve defects efficiently, seeking clarification when requirements or defect descriptions are ambiguous. • Support after-hours deployments, production releases, and critical operational activities as needed. Basic Qualifications
• Six or more years of hands-on experience designing and developing innovative, intuitive, secure, responsive, and scalable applications. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Required Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of C#, ASP.NET, RESTful Web APIs, WCF, and microservices architecture. • Experience with client-side technologies, including React, React Native, and TypeScript. • Understanding of software design patterns and component-based architectures, including MVP and MVW. • Strong troubleshooting skills, including debugging, code analysis, and reverse engineering. • Working knowledge of the OWASP Top 10 web application security risks and effective vulnerability remediation practices. • Knowledge of SQL Server jobs, replication strategies, linked servers, database design, and query optimization. Preferred Qualifications
• Proficiency with development and diagnostic tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, GitHub, file comparison utilities, and Microsoft SQL Server management tools. • Experience delivering high-volume, mission-critical web applications, preferably in digital or online banking. • Experience planning and conducting technical training in multiple formats. • Familiarity with credit union or banking host systems such as Symitar or Summit. • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, including automated build, testing, deployment, source control, and release management using tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or equivalent platforms. • Experience using AI-powered coding assistants, such as GitHub Copilot or equivalent tools (Claude), to improve development productivity, code quality, documentation, testing, and troubleshooting while following secure coding and responsible AI practices. • Experience in banking or financial services, particularly with digital banking applications, is preferred.
