JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Engineer, Water / Wastewater position will provide effective and efficient support to the project’s field management team and support assigned projects or project areas, along with supporting the Superintendent and Project Manager on an assigned project or multiple projects. The position will perform routine daily activities and assist in gathering and distributing information to team members and subcontractors.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Core Duties / Responsibilities:
• Oversees document control processes (submittals, RFI’s, ASI’s, change management, etc.) with the support of the Project Manager
• Manages submittal and procurement tracking for process equipment and long-lead items, prioritizing releases consistent with the project schedule.
• Supports process piping, mechanical piping, and yard piping scopes by tracking materials, deliveries, and installed quantities.
• Assist Superintendent with site safety documentation.
• Assist with developing and updating project CPM schedule.
• Assist in implementation of project specific QC Plan and Assist in verification of quality of work put in place (QC conformance & punch list administration).
• Facilitating subcontractor and supplier coordination, and procurement working in conjunction with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager leading the project team.
• Oversees material procurement tracking, submittal logs, and RFI logs.
• Assists Project Superintendent with material inventories and self-perform/subcontractor quantities completed to date by verifying delivered and installed quantities and managing tracking logs.
• Works with project team to ensure site has full-time coverage in mornings, evenings, and possible weekends.
• Oversees project closeout process (warranties, O&M’s, as-built drawings, owner training, etc.)
• Accurate note taking at project meetings and distribution of meeting minutes both internally and externally.
• Exposure to project budget tracking, subcontractor pay application approval, invoice approval, and owner pay applications.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience / Training:
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering or minimum two (2) years of experience in the construction industry.
• Water/wastewater, utility, or heavy civil project experience (Preferred), including treatment plants, pump/lift stations, large diameter transmission and distribution, storage, or collection systems.
• Experience verifying shop drawings and documentation of installation for equipment and process piping is highly preferred.
• Experience supporting commissioning and programming operations of PLC integration (Preferred)
• Understanding of water and/or wastewater treatment plant operations and construction logistics for process equipment installation, mechanical piping, yard piping, and concrete scopes of work.
• Maintain OSHA 30 (minimum) and recommend refresher training.
• Obtain as required - project specific and equipment operation safety training.
• Attend training for operational software as needed to stay current.
• Seek training from Superintendents and/or PMs on all areas of self-assessed or assessed opportunities for improvement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
OFFICE: Up to 5%, and/or daily travel as business requires during scheduled work hours.
FIELD: Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather: rain, heat, and loud noises. Up to 10%, and/or daily travel as business requires during scheduled work hours.
