Children’s Research Triangle (CRT)
Full-Time; 40 hours per week Salary: $55,000–$65,000 per year
Children’s Research Triangle (CRT) is seeking a full-time Child & Family Therapist to provide trauma-informed therapy to children and their families. This position will include work at our Loop clinic as well as community partner sites throughout the Chicagoland area and south suburbs.
The ideal candidate has experience providing therapy in both clinical and community-based settings and works from a trauma-informed, relational, and systems-oriented perspective. The therapist should be comfortable working independently while also prioritizing collaboration with children, families, and multidisciplinary support teams.
About Children’s Research Triangle
Children’s Research Triangle (CRT) is a nonprofit, transdisciplinary organization dedicated to the healthy development of children and their families. We specialize in working primarily with youth who have experienced trauma or maltreatment and/or prenatal exposure to drugs and alcohol. We build collaborative partnerships to provide on-site intervention, support, and training in under-resourced Chicago communities.
Our community-based clinicians build strong relationships with children, caregivers, families, teachers, principals, caseworkers, and other professionals involved in children’s lives. To understand each child’s strengths, challenges, circumstances, behavioral concerns, and mental health needs, CRT provides a range of services, including comprehensive screening and assessment, short- and long-term therapy, caregiver psychoeducation, community-building, and professional training and consultation.
We use this broad range of services as a foundation for our programs and tailor interventions to the needs of each child, family, and organization we serve.
Responsibilities
• Provide individual, group, dyadic, and family therapy
• Conduct clinical assessments of complex case histories using clinical interviews, observations, and standardized measures
• Provide measurement-informed care and use standardized assessment measures to inform clinical treatment and monitor therapy outcomes
• Develop collaborative treatment plans that identify client goals, objectives, and appropriate evidence-based interventions
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and required data entry
• Work collaboratively with families, schools, and other support and service systems to provide high-quality mental health services
• Participate in clinical supervision and collaborative reflective consultation groups
• Provide psychoeducation and consultation to parents/caregivers and other professionals as appropriate
Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements
• Master’s or doctoral degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field
• At least two years of clinical experience; post-graduate clinical experience and licensure preferred
• Experience providing therapy to children and families in clinical and/or community-based settings; experience working in schools or homes preferred
• Training or experience in trauma-informed treatment, child development, and attachment theory
• Experience conducting biopsychosocial assessments, clinical interviews, and observations, and developing comprehensive clinical conceptualizations
• Experience using standardized clinical measures and providing measurement-informed care preferred
• Experience developing and implementing treatment plans for clients with complex, relational, behavioral, or mental health needs, including dual diagnoses
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and client/family support systems
• Experience providing psychoeducation and consultation to parents/caregivers and helping professionals
• Strong work ethic and commitment to providing high-quality, culturally responsive services to children and families
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills strongly encouraged
