Lead Nurse for Attraction, Recruitment and Retention, Band 8a (15- 22.5 hours week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered nurse to join our Corporate Nursing Team as a Lead Nurse for Attraction, Recruitment and Retention.
To have responsibility for and lead on the Attraction, Recruitment and Retention of Registered Nurses and Health Care Support Workers at Gloucestershire NHS Foundation Trust.
This part-time position will work in partnership with the existing post holder, providing a unique opportunity to contribute to and further develop the Trust's work to attract, recruit, engage and retain talented nursing and healthcare support worker colleagues. Together, you will help shape initiatives that support staff well-being, enhance workforce sustainability, and position the Trust as an employer of choice

Main duties of the job
1. Provide strategic and transformational leadership for nursing workforce attraction, recruitment and retention, supporting the delivery of the Trust's workforce objectives and nursing strategy.
2. Provide compassionate, inclusive and visible leadership through being accessible, influential and professionally credible, fostering a culture that prioritises staff wellbeing, belonging, engagement and retention.
3. Lead initiatives that promote positive staff experience, health and wellbeing, ensuring nurses feel supported, valued and empowered to deliver safe, effective and compassionate care.
4. Provide expert nursing leadership by setting, promoting and maintaining high standards of professional practice, offering specialist nursing workforce advice and supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.
5. Lead, develop and implement innovative workforce initiatives that enhance the attraction, recruitment and retention of nursing staff, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and national workforce strategies.
6. Work collaboratively with nursing, workforce, people and organisational development, and operational leaders across the Trust and wider system to strengthen workforce sustainability, improve staff wellbeing and experience, and support the delivery of outstanding care

1. Reduction in vacancy rates for Registered Nurses, Nursing Associates and Healthcare Support Workers, supporting the delivery of safe and sustainable staffing levels.
2. Reduction in turnover rates for Registered Nurses, Nursing Associates and Healthcare Support Workers through the implementation of effective retention initiatives.
3. Reduction in nursing agency expenditure through improved workforce planning, recruitment and retention outcomes.
4. Improvement in nursing staff engagement, evidenced through staff survey results and local engagement measures.
5. Improvement in staff well-being, evidenced through workforce indicators, staff feedback and participation in well-being initiatives.
6. Improved staff satisfaction with recruitment, induction and on-boarding processes, ensuring a positive experience for new starters.
7. Effective contribution to the development, implementation and delivery of a Trust-wide Nursing Attraction and Recruitment Strategy in partnership with key stakeholders.
8. Effective contribution to the development, implementation and delivery of a Trust-wide Nursing Retention and Well-being Strategy in partnership with key stakeholders, resulting in improved staff experience and workforce sustainability
9. Improved retention of newly registered nurses, Nursing Associates and Healthcare Support Workers through targeted support, engagement and career development initiatives
10. Improved nursing staff experience through the development of initiatives that promote professional fulfilment well-being, inclusion and a positive working environment

Qualifications Essential
Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of professional portfolio and registration revalidation
Desirable
Leadership, management or workforce-related qualification or equivalent experience
Experience Essential
Experience of working within an acute healthcare environment Experience of leading change, service improvement or workforce-related projects Experience of influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels
