Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the current team within the Leeds Dental Institute as a Band 2 Dental Clinical Support Worker.
Dental Clinical Support Workers work as a highly valued member of the Dental Team and applicants should be reliable, enthusiastic, professional and well-motivated team players whilst also being able to work on their own initiative.
The jobholder will provide support for the delivery of the dental and training service within the clinical, outreach centres and non-clinical departments and of the Leeds Dental Institute and the University School of Dentistry.
Applicants must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
As a Dental Clinical Support Worker you will be responsible for delivering exceptional standards of safe, effective care to ensure that it consistently meets Trust standards. Delivering a high standard of quality service and providing a safe, clean environment for patients and staff.
The post is fulltime - 37.5 hours or part-time/job share would be considered.
Core working hours - Monday to Friday - 8.30am until 5.00pm.

Main duties of the job The role consists of working in the Leeds Dental Institute sterile instrument store and clinical departments. This role has limited patient contact.
The post holder will be responsible for providing quality support to dental students, dental nurses and clinicians within the Leeds Dental Institute. This involves supporting the dental nurses in daily maintenance of clinics and decontamination of clinical equipment, providing clean equipment and consumables to support clinical activity of undergraduate and post graduate dental students and clinical staff.
Rotating, maintaining and restocking equipment / materials / instruments within the sterile instrument store and clinical areas.
Assisting the team to collect and check used equipment returning for reprocessing at our external provider site.
Working in the clean and dirty dispensaries in busy clinical departments dispensing instruments, materials and equipment to staff and students.
Working in clinical areas supporting the dental team and patients.
Complete all relevant daily documentation in compliance with relevant statutory legislation, local codes of practice and quality control procedures.
Please note: This role is very physical and successful candidates may spend most of the day on their feet or moving and handling heavy loads.
Experience is not essential, just a willingness to learn, as training will be provided.
