Job summary
Our CAMHS Eating Disorder Service has an exciting opportunity for a Recruit to Train (RTT) Trainee / Trainee Systemic Family Practice (SFP) Practitioner, as part of the NHS England (NHSE) funded Children and Young People (CYP) Psychological Training Programmes (formerly CYP-IAPT).
Recruit to Train is a government-funded initiative aiming to grow the child mental health workforce to meet much needed demand. To help reach this goal, NHSE covers salary and training costs for a 1-year post, allowing services to employ trainees to aid in implementing new or expanding existing specialist pathways to bridge the gaps in CYP mental health support.
This is a unique opportunity to apply your learning from weekly teaching into practical clinical interventions working with clients in the service making a direct impact in the lives of children, young people and their families.
Please note: The position will be based at 1 Armstrong Way, Southall, UB2 4SD but successful candidates will be expected to travel to Denmark Hill Campus of King's College London for teaching during the training year.

Main duties of the job
We are recruiting a SFP Practitioner to work within our West London CAMHS Eating Disorder Team. This is a training role within the Child and Young Persons Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP-IAPT) Programme. We offer high quality supervision, with excellent CPD and career development opportunities.
This is a one-year fixed-term post (1.0 WTE), with this training year funded by NHSE. After successful completion of the course the fixed term training contract will end however applicants would be encouraged to apply for any vacant posts within the service and will be provided support and advice in job applications.
This role will be best suited for applicants that are able to balance a very busy work and study schedule. You will be an employee at the service but also enrolled on a Postgraduate Diploma course. As this is a Postgraduate level training, you will be required to study and perform at academic level. Applicants must be prepared to work towards their studies outside of protected study time (such as on weekends and after work). Protected study time or teaching days are typically two days a week during term (with possibility of extra university days near start) and will be a mixture of in person and online sessions. Applicants must be willing to travel into London to attend their lectures.

Qualifications Essential
Qualifications that demonstrate a capacity to complete academic work at postgraduate diploma level. A registerable professional qualification (e.g. clinical or educational psychology, social work, counselling, mental health nursing, occupational therapy etc) Applications MAY be considered from those who do not have a registerable professional training if they have at least 3 years' experience in a CAMHS or equivalent setting and can demonstrate equivalence through the RPL (recognition of prior learning) process Minimum second-class Bachelor's Degree from a UK University or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard in a relevant subject (e.g. psychology, social work etc.).
Experience Essential
A minimum of two years of experience of working with children /families/ young people in a mental health setting Experience of assessing and managing risk and safeguarding issues Experience of multi-agency and/or multi-disciplinary working and liaising across internal & external agencies.
Knowledge Essential
Knowledge and understanding of issues relating to risk and safeguarding children and young people. Ability to be an autonomous practitioner whilst being able to work as an integral part of a multi-agency locality team. Be committed to anti discriminatory/ anti oppressive practice and equal opportunity.

Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with children, young people, and their families, whilst considering social differences.
