Job summary
Newport Pagnell Medical Centre has a fantastic opportunity for a permanent healthcare assistant to join the practice, to support their community urology team. The role is offered on a part time basis for 16 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
Ensure the efficient organisation and running of specialist clinics and clinical areas . Chaperoning and assisting procedures within the clinic setting. Perform bladder scans and uroflow studies. Observing, evaluating and recording information and reporting to the Advanced Urology Nurse Practitioner. Prepare the clinic and examination rooms, including instrument preparation for the clinical sessions. Maintain agreed standards of safety and hygiene of both equipment and treatment rooms. Ensure equipment is in good working order and report any concerns to the service lead. Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Ability to develop skills and practice to support the team or service. Promote good communication channels amongst staff enhancing good team work. Support and mentor colleagues and healthcare professionals. Participate in teaching nurse learners and students or healthcare professionals within the Medical Centre. Health promotion activities within the scope of practice, inc advice on diet, exercise, alcohol consumption, smoking. Provide a high standard of professional conduct and and Nursing care at all times

Newport Pagnell Medical Centre is a large training practice based in the town of Newport Pagnell. We have two further remote sites, one in Willen and another in Newport Pagnell. Our three practices form The Bridge PCN.
