Main duties of the job
Our families and childrens service is looking for a senior young people support worker. The Young People Service supports vulnerable young people at risk of offending, exploitation, or entering care, providing early intervention, safeguarding, and multi-agency support to improve outcomes and reduce risk.
The Senior Young People Support Worker will support vulnerable young people aged 10-17 who are at risk. The role involves managing complex cases, supervising and developing support workers, leading assessments and intervention plans, working closely with families and partner agencies and ensuring effective safeguarding and positive outcomes for young people through targeted, evidence-based support.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience working with vulnerable young people and families, particularly those at risk of offending, exploitation, or going missing. They will possess strong safeguarding knowledge, expertise in child and adolescent development, trauma-informed and restorative practice, and a proven ability to engage hard-to-reach families, assess complex needs, and deliver effective interventions that improve outcomes for children and young people.

Qualifications Essential
