Main duties of the job
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner will work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical team, providing expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation for patients presenting with a range of undifferentiated and complex health conditions.
The postholder will act as a first point of contact for patients, managing acute presentations, routine appointments and telephone or remote consultations. They will undertake and interpret diagnostic investigations, diagnose and manage acute, chronic and long-term conditions, and prescribe and review medications as an Independent Prescriber.
The role will also involve managing urgent or emergency situations, arranging appropriate referrals, working with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver coordinated, patient-centred care, and contributing to clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and the development of practice protocols and pathways.

The Light Surgery is seeking an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our well-established practice in the heart of Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity to use your advanced clinical assessment, diagnostic and prescribing skills to deliver high-quality patient care while helping shape the future of primary care.
You'll independently assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with a wide range of primary care needs, making autonomous clinical decisions and providing safe, evidence-based care. Working alongside experienced GPs, Practice Nurses, Wellbeing Advisors, Clinical Coders and other healthcare professionals, you'll play a key role in delivering outstanding care to our diverse patient population.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Registered with a UK professional body (e.g., NMC, HCPC, GPhC) MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (or equivalent qualification meeting the national ACP framework) Independent / Non-Medical Prescriber qualification Current Life Support qualification(s)
Experience Essential
Significant post-registration clinical experience in primary care or a relevant setting Demonstrable advanced clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills Proven ability to manage patients with complex and/or long-term conditions Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating accountability and sound professional judgment
Desirable
Experience in supervising, mentoring, or teaching clinical colleagues
