Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

*Numerate and Literate *GCSE Grade C or above in Mathematics and English Language or equivalent.

Desirable

*NVQ Level 3 in admin / related field or equivalent experience.

Experience Essential

*Essential Experience and Skills *Minimum of 5 years' administrative experience, preferably within a healthcare, NHS, or busy office environment. *Extensive experience providing high-level secretarial and administrative support to senior managers. *Advanced knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office applications, including: *Microsoft Excel (creating and maintaining spreadsheets, analysing data, producing reports, formulas, and staff rostering information). *Microsoft Word (producing professional correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, and presentations). *Microsoft Outlook (managing complex diaries, email correspondence, and meeting coordination). *Microsoft Teams and PowerPoint. *Proven experience managing electronic and paper-based filing systems and maintaining accurate records. *Experience of organising meetings, preparing agendas, and taking accurate minutes. *Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft correspondence using initiative and judgement. *Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines. *Experience handling confidential and sensitive information in accordance with data protection and confidentiality requirements. *Ability to work independently, using initiative to resolve administrative issues and support service delivery. *High level of accuracy and attention to detail when managing staffing data, reports, financial records, and ward documentation. *Desirable *Previous NHS experience and knowledge of NHS systems. *Experience maintaining electronic rostering or staff scheduling systems. *Experience supporting patient experience initiatives, audits, and surveys

Additional Criteria Essential

Knowledge: Good working with IT applications including Microsoft Office Packages (ie. Outlook, Word, Excel) *Understanding the need for confidentiality and to remain impartial. *Knowledge of need for prevention of cross infection. Personal Attributes: *Ability to remain calm under pressure. *Ability to manage difficult and stressful situations. *To be conscientious and hard working. *To be reliable, flexible and honest. *Able to use own initiative
