Elm Lane & Chapeltown Surgery has an exciting opportunity for a GP Receptionist (25hrs per week) to join our small friendly GP Practice.

The role of the GP Receptionist can, at times, be very demanding so we are looking for someone who is confident, has excellent communication skills, is highly organised and good at multi-tasking.
Working hours will be between the times of 8.00am - 6:30pm Monday to Friday.
A normal working week would consist of working two full days (8:00am-6:30pm) and one morning (8:00am-1:30pm).During times of leave, you will be required to work up to 40 hours per week which will include three full days and two mornings (minimum of 10 weeks per year).

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will:
Open and close surgery premises, including checking and securing the premises at the end of each day.Receive and direct the patients on arrival.Process requests for repeat prescriptions, ready for checking by a Doctor. Pass on all requests for home visits to the GP, ensuring careful recording of all relevant details.Deal with all general enquiries, explain surgery procedures, make new and follow-up appointments over the telephone or with direct patient contact. Receive and pass on messages for clinical and managerial staff.Ensure all urgent or outstanding messages are completed at the end of your working day.Deal with all internal and external mail and scanning onto the clinical system, where required.File, record requests for medical records and photocopy medical records. Register new patients to the practice and book new patient checks, which will also include temporary residents.Liaise with other outside agencies by telephone or email.Adopt and contribute to new processes.Undertake any other additional duties as requested by the Partners or the practice manager.
About us
Our small friendly practice team are based at Elm Lane & Chapeltown. We are a 3 partner surgery with a patient list size of around 5900. Our practice falls within the boundary of South Yorkshire ICB and we are part of the collaborative SAPA5 PCN which consists of 6 Practices.
We are a patient centered practice with a family orientated approach. We are rated Good by the CQC. We are a high-performing practice achieving strong results in QOF.
Our multidisciplinary team includes 1 Salaried GP, 2 Practices Nurses, 1 Healthcare Assistant, 1 Phlebotomist, as well as an experienced administrative and reception team. Our ARRS roles include a physiotherapist, social prescribers, occupational therapist and pharmacists.
We are an accredited training practice and provide education for GP trainees.

The successful candidate will have and be able to demonstrate:
Excellent customer service skills. SystmOne and Accurx familiarity is desirable but training will be provided.
