We have an exciting opportunity for a Directorate Medical Lead to join the Health in Justice service at Practice Plus Group.

You will work across the Midlands Directorate, which covers our prisons across East and West Midlands.

This role is home based, with travel to sites across the directorate as required.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for providing professional, strategic, and operational leadership across nursing and allied health professional (AHP) services.

In this role you will ensure high-quality, safe, patient-centred care and lead on quality improvement, professional standards, workforce development, and governance.

Salary & Hours

This position is part time working 22.5 hours per week.

You will receive an annual salary of up to £90,000 per annum - based on 22.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

As a Directorate Medical Lead your responsibilities will vary. You will:

Provide professional and medical leadership across Health in Justice services. Support and develop medical, clinical, and governance teams. Develop medical leadership capability across the organisation. Ensure services are safe, effective, responsive and well-led. Lead on clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives. Support the implementation of the Quality Assurance Framework and Continuous Quality Review processes. Oversee patient safety incident management, including deaths in custody. Investigate complaints, incidents, inquests and legal cases where required. Ensure lessons learned are implemented and shared across services. Contribute to business development, service mobilisation and new healthcare service offerings. Identify opportunities for service improvement and growth. Maintain awareness of national healthcare developments and secure-environment policy changes. Build relationships with NHS England, commissioners, HMPPS, Ministry of Justice and other external partners. Represent Health in Justice at national meetings, conferences and working groups. Navigate a complex stakeholder environment effectively. Escalate and address concerns relating to professional conduct or patient safety.

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

Full current GMC registration and on the NHS England Performers List, or on the Specialist Register in a relevant specialty. Ongoing compliance with GMC appraisal and revalidation requirements. Significant experience in a senior medical leadership role Experience leading clinical teams and influencing service improvement. Experience improving patient experience and patient outcomes. Experience implementing evidence-based practice and medical research. Understanding of clinical governance, quality assurance and patient safety processes. #LI-KD1
