Main duties of the job
1. Perform Mammograms: Conduct high-quality mammographic examinations to ensure accurate and clear images for diagnostic purposes.2. Image Assessment: Evaluate the technical quality of mammography images and make necessary adjustments to optimize clarity and detail.3. Patient Care: Provide compassionate and professional care, addressing the clinical, physical, and emotional needs of patients during their imaging procedures.4. Clinical Expertise: Utilize advanced clinical skills and knowledge to support services, ensuring best practices are followed.5. Assist in Interventional Procedures: Support radiologists and other advanced Mammographers during breast interventional procedures, such as biopsies and localizations.6. Research and Development: Participate in research activities aimed at advancing breast imaging techniques and improving patient outcomes.7. Training and Education: Mentor and train junior staff and students in mammography practices, fostering a learning environment.8. Leadership: Take an active role in the management and development of the breast imaging service, contributing to policy and procedural improvements.

We are looking to recruit a radiographer with sophisticated communication skills and a patient-centered approach.
The successful candidate will gain experience in a in a systematic one stop breast clinic, cold lists and biopsies at the Macmillan Cancer Centre. The candidate must be HCPC registered and hold a PGC in mammography. You must capable and willing to work to the highest standards.
As a department, we are very supportive of role development, currently we have mammographers who report as well as perform breast biopsies and a Consultant Mammographer running One Stop Clinics and cold lists.
You are required to hold demonstrable teaching abilities as you will be working with under-graduates & junior staff.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Qualifications Essential
BSc or Diploma in Radiography State Registration Evidence of post graduate specialist training equivalent to Master's level Evidence that knowledge of general imaging techniques is up to date. Evidence of the ability to critically analyse radiographs
Experience Essential
Demonstrable evidence of a wide range of general radiographic experience Evidence of significant experience in Breast imaging
Desirable
Evidence of experience of first line management.
Skills and Abilities Essential
Demonstrate awareness of responsibility to and advocacy for patients. Good standard of computer literacy Evidence of participation in QA Programme and maintenance of agreed standards. Evidence of experience in the supervision, training and assessment of students and junior radiographic staff to a required standard. Good Understanding of legislation relating to Health & Safety and Radiation Protection.
