Job summary
We are offering a substantive 0.2 WTE post for a General Practitioner to work alongside consultants, registrars and specialist nurses in the Dermatology Department at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. The Clinic provides services to patients throughout the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire area.
0.2 WTE Direct Clinical Care per week
Main duties of the job
The appointee will possess the following knowledge and experience
Full GMC registration including entry on the GP register Experience assessing pigmented lesions and suspected skin cancer Understanding of urgent suspected cancer pathways Positive approach to evidence-based practice Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, clinical colleagues and support staff

The post holder will provide additional capacity within the Dermatology Surgical Service, undertaking assessment and treatment of patients requiring dermatological surgery, including management of suspected skin cancer lesions and contribution to associated skin cancer pathways. The post holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary dermatology team alongside consultant dermatologists and specialist nurses.

Knowledge and Experience Essential
oGood clinical judgement oUnderstand Audit/governance processes oExperience of minor surgery and/or skin surgery oExperience of management of suspected skin cancer lesions.
Desirable
oPrevious GPwER/GPwSI experience oPrevious experience undertaking dermatological surgery in a secondary care setting
Skills and Abilities Essential
oAbility to organise and prioritise workload oGood communication skills oHonesty and reliability oAbility to work effectively within an MDT environment oFlexibility oCritical approach to work oDemonstrates initiative oAbility to gain confidence of both staff and patients oWilling to undertake additional clinical duties when necessary, including cover for colleagues on leave
Qualifications and Training Essential
oRegistered with GMC (UK) oEvidence of additional dermatology training commensurate with a GPwSI/GPwER role.

oIT skills on all Microsoft packages oFluent English speaker
