As a GP Receptionist, you will be the welcoming face and voice of our practice, providing a professional and compassionate first point of contact for patients. You will manage appointments, handle enquiries, support clinicians and help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. Main duties of the job
Greet patients and visitors in a polite and professional mannerAnswer telephone calls promptly and direct enquiries appropriatelyBook, amend and cancel appointments using the practice's clinical systemHandle patient queries sensitively and confidentiallyAssist patients with registrations forms and general paperworkMaintain accurate patient recordsScan and file medical documentsManage incoming and outgoing postLiaise with clinicians, nurses and other staff as requiredEnsure reception area is tidy and welcomingManage waiting roomFollow practice policies and procedures for confidentiality and data protectionSupport other administrative staff during busy periods

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Good standard of general education (GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths) Willingness to undertake further training Previous experience in a customer facing role Experience of working in a busy office environment
Desirable
Experience working in a GP practice, primary care or NHS setting Experience using clinical systems (eg EMIS, Outlook)
