About this role
Clinical nursing position in Ambulatory Business Unit, Obstetrics and Maternal Medicine Department. Under the guidance and supervision of the OBGYN Nursing Director and an assigned preceptor, the incumbent participates in a comprehensive one-year nurse orientation program designed to develop the clinical knowledge, technical skills, and professional judgment required for safe, independent ambulatory nursing practice. During the first year, the RN must successfully complete an approved Ambulatory Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) and all required orientation competencies. The RN applies the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care, delivering safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered nursing services. Working collaboratively as a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, the RN provides compassionate care to patients across the continuum, performs established nursing procedures, supports the care of patients with complex clinical needs under appropriate supervision, and contributes to care coordination, patient education, quality improvement, and a positive patient experience. The position is designed to foster the transition from novice to competent ambulatory registered nurse while ensuring high standards of clinical excellence and patient safety.

Required Qualifications:
• A minimum of 2 years of recent clinical RN experience in L&D or OB • The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations. • Excellent verbal and written skills. Must be well organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and work independently and under pressure.
• Basic computer keyboard skills and general PC knowledge

Licensure/Certifications:
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California • Current American Heart Association CPR certification
