What’s the role?
As an Information Security Senior Consultant, you’ll help deliver and support enterprise cryptographic services across Westpac’s technology environment. This includes digital certificates, encryption, tokenisation, key management services, and HSM technologies. You’ll provide technical expertise to ensure secure cryptographic solutions align with security strategies and architecture standards while supporting deployment, configuration, and ongoing operations.
Additionally, you'll work closely with architects, engineers, and product teams to automate cryptographic service consumption, improve certificate lifecycle management, and reduce manual operational activities. You'll also help integrate vendor products, expose services through APIs and industry-standard interfaces, and contribute to documentation, training, and onboarding activities to deliver a seamless customer experience.
You will support PKI platforms and cryptography services, provide SME guidance to stakeholders, assist with production support, and collaborate on building secure, scalable automation solutions. This role combines information security, scripting, system administration, and application development skills to enhance security capabilities and drive modern cryptographic service delivery across the organisation.
What do I need?
• Experience working within financial services, banking, or other large enterprise environments, supporting security, encryption, digital certificates, and key management solutions. • Strong experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) technologies, including platforms such as Venafi and Microsoft PKI. • Knowledge of cryptography, encryption, key management, digital certificates, and HSM technologies. • Ability to develop or support automation solutions using scripting or programming languages such as Python, C#, .NET, Java, or similar. • Experience improving self-service and automated security processes, helping teams securely consume cryptographic services. • Strong troubleshooting, incident investigation, and root cause analysis skills within complex technology environments. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across architecture, engineering, operations, and business teams.
