Key Responsibilities : Senior Corporate Counsel Commercial Contracts
• Draft, review, redline, and negotiate customer, partnership, telecom operator (P2P and aggregator), tender, and vendor agreements.
• Identify contractual risks and propose commercially viable mitigations, balancing legal protection with customer and business objectives.
• Simplify and standardise templates to support customer growth, including AI-native and innovation-led offerings.
• Review operator, aggregator, and enterprise terms to limit liability and protect against external fraud.
Regulatory & Compliance
• Advise on Indian telecom regulation, including TRAI’s TCCCPR 2018, Department of Telecommunications (DoT) requirements, licensing conditions, and related commercial communications obligations.
• Track developments under the DPDP Act 2023, DPDP Rules 2025, the IT Act.
Dispute Resolution
• Provide pre-litigation advice on customer, vendor, and partner disputes; coordinate external litigation counsel and attend court hearings.
• Coordinate with law-enforcement authorities on Virtual Mobile Number fraud matters.
Privacy & Data Protection
• Support the privacy compliance roadmap and advise product and technology teams on data-protection obligations relevant to Sinch’s communications platform.
• Advise on privacy considerations for new product launches and related technology initiatives.
Business Partnering
• Serve as a trusted legal adviser to sales, product, and telecom-operator teams on legal matters, business initiatives, and commercial relationships.
Legal Operations
• Use AI-powered contract review tools to improve efficiency and support consistent, high-quality legal work.
• Help document and optimise practical legal processes, including contract lifecycle management and external litigation counsel engagement.
Required Qualifications
• LL.B. from a recognised Indian university; a premier national law university background is preferred.
• Enrolment with a State Bar Council under the Bar Council of India, or eligibility for enrolment, is required.
• Deep, thorough knowledge of the Indian Contract Act, 1872 including core principles of offer, acceptance, consideration, indemnity, guarantee, and breach. This is essential and non-negotiable.
• 8–10 years’ post-qualification experience in commercial law and contracts.
• A combination of in-house experience at a multinational company and private-practice experience at a reputable law firm is ideal.
• Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, redlining, and negotiating commercial contracts in a technology, telecom, or CPaaS environment.
• Exposure to Indian data-protection and privacy law, including the DPDP Act and IT Act, and telecom regulation under TRAI and DoT frameworks.
