Key Responsibilities
• Assist the WBRS Department Head in the development of the overall internal audit strategies, standards, policies and administration
• Develop and execute the approved audit plan for the section
• Work with business and support units to identify risks and their mitigation, including the review of systems established to determine whether they are in compliance with plans, internal policies and procedures, and external regulations/laws which could have a significant impact on operations and reports
• Review audit programs, maintain quality of audit documentation and active participation in internal audit continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist the WBRS Department Head to identify, plan and monitor the manpower needs and staff development for the department
• Plan, develop and implement the training and development needs of the direct subordinates
• Keep abreast of the Group’ strategy/directions, regulatory landscape, market changes and emerging risks in order to be able to manage audit coverage and resources effectively
• Supervise audit work to ensure that audit is performed as per GCAD Procedures Manual
• Review audit reports and workpapers to ensure proper documentation of work done
• Supervise audit follow-up and issue validation process to ensure management act on agreed action plan
• Provide on-the-job training and motivation to subordinates; review their work and evaluate their performance for annual PMS purpose
• Communicate and interact with Management across the organisation
• Assist the WBRS Department Head to prepare presentation materials to the Audit Committee and relevant Senior Management Committee summarising results of audit activities and findings of significance
• Carry out any other responsibilities/tasks as assigned by the WBRS Department Head, Group Chief Internal Auditor or Head of Corporate Assurance Malaysia from time to time
