We are seeking an experienced full-time Specialty Doctor who will work at Delfryn Lodge and Rhyd Alyn and provide psychiatric care within our mental health rehabilitation service for women and community rehabilitation service for women.
You will be fully involved as a practising psychiatrist - while being fully supported by a Consultant Psychiatrist and first-class multidisciplinary team.
Cygnet Delfryn Lodge has 24 beds and provides a flexible mental health rehabilitation service for women, including High-Support Inpatient Rehabilitation (Level 2) and Community / Open Rehabilitation (Level 1). This dual-level rehabilitation model ensures that women receive the support they need while developing independence at their own pace.
Rhyd Alyn is a six bed community rehabilitation (level 1) service for women who have been able to progress through the hospital pathway at Cygnet Delfryn Lodge. We also accept referrals from other high d ependency inpatient rehabilitation services as well as directly from the community.
This is a rotational role on an annual basis and will include working within our two new wards at Delfryn House. This is a female low secure service with two wards - Awen (PD) and Elyn (MI).

Main duties and Responsibilities…Provide routine medical and psychiatric support including initial clerking and mental state examination of newly admitted patientsCarry out the assessment, appropriate investigation, diagnosis and treatment under Consultant supervision of inpatients of the unit. Maintain good communication with ward nursing staff, mental health professionals and other agencies as requiredParticipate in weekly ward rounds and other multidisciplinary meetings, including CPA, Tribunal hearings & Section 117 meetingsMaintenance of full records of medical and psychiatric assessments and interventionsPreparing discharge summaries in line with company policies and guidelinesAttending all mandatory training e.g. BLS, ILS, Breakaway training/PMVA training, Moving and Transferring, Infection Control, H&S.Communicating effectively through regular contact with patients, relatives, staff, directors, and any other concerned bodies; maintaining appropriate reports. This programme will help you develop the skills you need to progress to Consultant level – and you’ll rotate within wards/services to gain valuable experience across various subspecialties.
You’ll also have an educational supervisor to review your progress and oversee your development – and you’ll receive support with MRCPsych exams.

Fully GMC registered & MBBS (or equivalent) qualified Experienced & knowledgeable in general adult / rehabilitation psychiatryKnowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of CapacityA first-rate communicator who can interview, assess & treat patients & write clear, comprehensive medical notesCommitted to continued professional developmentAble to work as part of a multi-disciplinary teamA member of the Royal Coll ege of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) or equivalentCygnet has been providing a national network of high-quality specialist mental health services for more than 30 years.
