Salary: £43,250 – £48,055 (London) or £40,222 – £44,691 (Belfast)

Location: London or Belfast (hybrid, minimum one day per week in the office)

Working pattern: Full time, 35 hours per week, 12-month fixed term contract

The role

You'll lead the development and delivery of Concern Worldwide UK's strategy to keep and grow income from individual cash supporters and Alternative Gifts buyers, through a programme of fundraising appeals and supporter communications. You'll report to the Supporter Development & Legacies Manager and manage two Direct Marketing Executives.

The role is mainly remote. You'll be in the office at least one day a week, attend all in-office staff days, and go to face-to-face meetings with external stakeholders.

What you'll be doing Delivering strategic projects within KPI targets that feed into the Public Fundraising and Engagement annual operational planAnalysing campaign results, spotting trends and making recommendations on marketing directionLine managing two Direct Marketing Executives, including training, coaching, delegation, performance monitoring and appraisalsManaging campaigns from start to finish: agency briefs, materials, data selections, copy, approvals, proofing, Donor Care briefings, analysis, reporting, costs and invoicesGrowing the lifetime value of one-off cash donors through direct mail, email and online marketingWorking with the Supporter Development Manager to manage and improve the Alternative Gifts range, fulfilment and product strategy, alongside the Acquisition and Innovation teamsMonitoring budgets and helping to set future income and expenditure targetsWorking with the Analysis, Campaign Planning and Insight team to review campaigns and use insight to increase incomeDeveloping donor selection and prompting strategies so supporters receive the next best actionCoordinating campaigns by theme, creative or audience to increase impactWorking with the Major Donors team to build a mid-value programme and move high-value cash supporters into the Major Donor programmeLeading the warm emergency strategy within the Emergency Fundraising Strategy, which can raise an extra £500k to £1m a yearKeeping up to date with direct marketing legislation, best practice and regulatory requirementsTravelling overseas and in-country when needed, and taking part in sector consortia What you'll bring

Essential: Experience of carrying out complex proceduresStrong analytical and numerical skills, including managing financial and budget reportsExperience of supporter development fundraising, including cash appeals, newsletters and email marketingExperience of using a fundraising database to analyse direct marketing campaigns and giving trendsExperience of working with external suppliers to deliver direct marketing campaignsStrong planning and project management skillsThe ability to work on your own initiativeExcellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skillsExcellent writing skills, including writing and commenting on fundraising copyStrong organisation skills and experience of managing a varied workloadExcellent attention to detailA good understanding of donor care and customer service Desirable: Line management experienceExperience of managing a trading or value exchange productExperience of working with overseas teamsNew product and proposition development, ideally in fundraisingExperience of marketing across different regionsKnowledge of data protection legislation relating to direct marketing Additional information

This is a 12-month fixed term contract. New starters join at the bottom of the pay band.

The successful candidate will need to complete a criminal records self-declaration form and a Basic DBS or AccessNI check. Having a criminal record will not necessarily stop you working with Concern. This depends on the role and the circumstances of any offence.
