Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current Infant-Toddler CDA/FCCPC or 1-year infant-toddler/EHS experience and willingness to obtain within one year - Governing body & Director approval required or a degree in early childhood.
• Florida Department of Children and Families ‘Introductory Childcare Training' or willingness to obtain within one year
• Experience working with infants and toddlers
• Ability to pass health screening, including tuberculosis test, per Head Start Performance Standards
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:
• Infant/Child First Aid and CPR certification: current or willingness to obtain within 60 days
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Florida driver's license and insurance

• Develops and implements appropriate instructional plans and individualized learning experiences for infants and toddlers as prescribed by program curricula.
• Establishes and maintains learning environments that meet all applicable state and federal health and safety standards.
• Gathers, evaluates and utilizes ongoing child development assessment data.
• Engages families in program activities by maintaining ongoing and open communication, including participation in conferences and home visits.
• Meets all state and federal record-keeping and recording requirements.
• Implements prescribed, individualized support, behavior and/or learning plans.
• Practices positive child behavior and management techniques in the classroom.
• Participates in requisite professional development activities.
• Supports and supervises classroom volunteers and interns.
• Maintains relevant, ongoing and open communication with coworkers and supervisory staff.
• Works closely with partnering community agencies to provide quality, seamless services.
• Performs assigned duties related to student safety and environmental hygiene such as, disinfecting toys and laundering classroom items on campus.
• Facilitates daily student routines and experiences including positioning, lifting, carrying, feeding, diapering, and toileting.
• Performs other duties related to the job goals directed.
