Nature of Work This position assists in maintaining food service facilities and equipment in a neat, clean, safe and sanitary condition; to assist in the preparation, setting up and serving of food; and to do other related work as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist with the preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, snacks, and other meals.
• Follow established recipes, portion sizes, menus, and food safety procedures.
• Provide friendly and courteous service to students and staff.
• Set up and maintain serving lines and food preparation areas.
• Wash dishes, trays, utensils, cookware, and other kitchen equipment.
• Complete daily cleaning and sanitation of kitchen, serving, and dining areas.
• Sweep and mop floors, wipe tables and counters, empty trash, and maintain clean work areas.
• Properly store food, supplies, dishes, and equipment.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing food and supplies.
• Follow all health, sanitation, safety, and Child Nutrition Program procedures.
• Work cooperatively with cafeteria staff and assist with other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities •Effectively communicate with all members of the school district and community. •Effectively communicate with students and teachers. •Knowledge of laws, rules, codes, and guidelines pertaining to facility operations. •Knowledge of safety precautions. •Knowledge of cleaning techniques and materials.
