About this role
Curriculum Specialist Responsibilities:
• Oversee all aspects of curriculum in school; pacing guides, maps, scheduling, Kentucky Academic Standards implementation, digital programs for enrichment and interventions
• Identify instructional needs and eliminate achievement gaps
• Comprehensive improvement Plan
• Assist leadership team with School Improvement Plans
• Compile & analyze school assessment data, including digital programs for enrichment/interventions
• Assist with planning PLC sessions; meet regularly in guided sessions to:
• discuss and analyze assessment data
• plan effective PLC sessions
• progress monitoring; maintain student data sheets
• Instructional strategies, questioning strategies & RTI assistance to teachers
• Follow-ups to summer PD sessions
• Develop, in concert with principal, ERF schedule for the year for each building to plan around
• Data-driven sessions, vertical alignment, brainstorming, camaraderie/culture enhancement
• Provide guidance and support to teachers and departments on effective curriculum, instruction, and assessment
• Mentor new teachers and provide support, including non-evaluative classroom observations
• Oversee new Kentucky Academic Standards rollouts
• Coordinate a needs assessment for professional learning needs; Assist building PD coordinators with PD planning and monitoring
• Assist school counselors with state assessment planning/logistics and analyzation
• Work as an effective member of the school administrative team and the district curriculum team
• Assist and/or lead the school's ESS program
• Meet regularly with ECE leaders to review progress monitoring of students
• Collaborate with District EL Coordinator on monitoring and assessing EL students
Certification Required: Kentucky teaching certificate; instructional leadership/principal certification preferred. Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Education; Master's preferred.
