Asheville City Schools Job Description Job Title: Girls Lacrosse Assistant Coach Location: Asheville High School Contact: [email protected] Asheville is seeking a dedicated and passionate Girls Lacrosse Assistant Coach to help lead and develop our high school lacrosse program. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, competitive, and inclusive environment while promoting athletic and personal growth among student-athletes. Responsibilities:
• Develop, organize, and implement a comprehensive lacrosse program that aligns with the school's athletic mission.
• Instruct athletes in the fundamentals, techniques, and strategies of lacrosse.
• Plan and lead practices, conditioning programs, and skill development sessions.
• Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and academic achievement among student-athletes.
• Help to oversee coaching staff, assistant coaches, and volunteers within the program.
• Help manage team selection, competition lineups, and in-season adjustments.
• Ensure adherence to all school, district, and state athletic association rules and policies.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration.
• Organize and participate in fundraising, community outreach, and program-building activities.
• Maintain and track inventory of equipment and uniforms.
• Advocate for and support the growth of lacrosse within the school and community.
Qualifications:
• Prior coaching experience in lacrosse, preferably at the high school level.
• Knowledge of lacrosse techniques, training methods, and safety protocols.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes.
• CPR/First Aid and coaching certifications (or willingness to obtain).
• Compliance with all background checks and school district requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience coaching lacrosse.
• Collegiate lacrosse experience is a plus.
• Teaching certification (if applying for a faculty position).
