Position: Assistant to the Treasurer / Payroll (full-time, 260-day contract) Minimum Requirements: •Associates degree in finance/accounting or equivalent work experience preferred •Experience in payroll processing and governmental fiscal procedures, preferred •Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and State Software (USAS, USPS,) •Documented evidence of a clear criminal record. •Detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills •Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with administration and staff •Ability to collaborate with others while maintaining confidentiality •Forward thinker who continuously seeks ways to improve accuracy and efficiency •Ability to prioritize workload to meet periods of peak demand Essential Responsibilities, including but not limited to: •Assist the Treasurer in all phases of school accounting procedures including but not limited to: oPayroll, Accounts Payable/Receivable, bank reconciliations, daily banking and reporting. oPrepare accurate semi-monthly payroll for the district oComplete all necessary tax reporting as well as all required monthly, quarterly and annual payroll reports oLiaison between staff and third-party administrator of insurance and annuity (403b/457) programs oAdditional duties as assigned by Treasurer Salary: Placement on salary schedule based upon education and experience Persons wishing to be considered for this position should submit an application, a letter of interest and an updated resume to Anne Arnold, Treasurer/CFO, at [email protected] no later than October 9, 2026. Verifies employees are placed on the correct salary schedule level. ·Confirms time sheets. Calculates gross wages. Processes payrolls. Reconciles payroll records. ·Processes associated payroll liabilities (e.g., insurance premiums, retirement deposits, taxes, etc.). ·Distributes deposit confirmation forms. ·Completes payroll reports and tax payments by required deadlines. ·Maintains monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports. Prepares W-2 forms. ·Works with human resources staff to ensure the continuity of employment records (e.g., hiring, leave, termination, wages, FMLA, etc.). ·Maintains employee health insurance and COBRA files. Processes enrollment forms. ·Maintains medical, disability, personal/family leave and vacation records. ·Processes employment contracts. ·Maintains retirement records. Processes termination and retirement forms. ·Provides back-up support for other department staff. Assists with special projects as directed. ·Maintains effective document and records management systems. ·Monitors compliance reporting deadlines. Ensures the integrity and security of confidential materials. Complies with district records retention and disposal policies. 2. Diligently attends to job details. Pursues quality results.
