JOB TITLE: SCHOOL BUS ACTIVITY DRIVER (2026 - 2027 School year) Qualified applicants will possess a current CDL license with proper endorsements or be willing to enroll in required training. NPS personnel will provide training and the vehicles for training as needed. REPORTS TO: Associate Superintendent and Bus Supervisor
RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM: Associate Superintendent and Bus Supervisor
JOB GOAL: To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's transportation program.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-time
EVALUATION: Annually based on job performance, effort, and enthusiasm. Duties:
• Obeys all traffic laws
• Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school vehicles and follows district procedures.
• Interacts positively with students and maintains a safe environment for all riders.
• Reports discipline issues to the proper authorities.
• Maintains a clean and orderly vehicle.
• Checks the vehicle before each operation to identify mechanical issues.
• Notifies supervisors of vehicle defects.
• Follows an assigned schedule in a timely manner.
• Releases students only at authorized stops and transports only authorized students.
• Reports all accidents and safety problems.
• Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
Skills:
• Ability to problem-solve solutions to various challenges.
• Self-driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must have a good driving record and be able to pass a DOT physical.
• Good communication skills.
